On bended knee
A warrior is found
His sword the spirit
Truth his ground

Surrounded by darkness
The forces are strong
Shielded in faith
Jesus his song

Arrows of fire
Plummet his way
They shout injustices
Throughout the day

His emotions rise
Insecurities strong
The battle not easy
His spirit longs

Humbled by Grace
Before Calvary’s tree
He lays down his life
On bended knee

His helmet secure
His breastplate in place
He stands in peace
For what he is to face

Lifting his sword
In Jesus name he stands
Armed in God’s promises
Victory is at hand

“ For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against the wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12

“ So God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence. This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain of heaven into God’s inner sanctuary.” Hebrews 6:18-19

I love this poem! An elegant painting-in-words of every Christian, really.
