Grace in Person

Grasping the true meaning of God’s Grace takes time to get our mind around. Ephesians 1:7 tells us…

“He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his son and forgave our sins”

God’s grace is underserved… there is nothing we can do to earn it. His unmerited favor came in a person, Jesus Christ. It’s one thing to understand Jesus died on a cross, it’s another thing to know He died for my freedom. To begin to understand grace you have to see that His sacrifice was to purchase your freedom. The Bible Shows us in Colossians 1:27…

“For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret; Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.”

To receive God’s grace we only need to come just as we are, to live in Gods grace changes us because now the power of God lives within. It’s Jesus that creates the change within, we only need to be open to grow in it. We need not fear Jesus in our heart, He understands our struggles. When he walked this earth he went through the same human emotions we experience. He can sympathize with our weaknesses and understands our temptations. Hebrews 4:15 says…

“For we do not have a high priest (Jesus Christ) who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin”

In His grace God sent our sinless Savior to redeem us, forgive us, and live within us, it’s His power within that turns our hearts from darkness to light.
