Doubt can bring us into a condition of becoming unresolved. It causes us to have lack of trust, or to be skeptical. This is exactly what happened to Eve in the Garden of Eden, as she listened to the serpent. He caused doubt in her heart. Up to that point she had trusted God. Interesting that her trust swayed toward unresolved doubt… and then sin, as she was offered something that seemed enticing, when in truth it only brought sin, fear and shame.

Even in the close personal relationship Adam and Eve had with God they fell short in their response. They disobeyed Gods command. (Genesis 3:1-13) this shift of heart came when Eve took her eyes off of God…doubting the goodness of his intentions and onto the forbidden fruit.

I believe the enemy of our soul is just as shrewd today. He knows that where there is doubt to Gods goodness… a heart is unresolved. It will lose focus and question God’s authority.

But where there is trust in growing in Gods love, goodness and grace… there is redemption, healing and strength.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones.
Proverbs 3:5-8
